English Grammar Practice

Practicing grammar every day is essential for beginning English learners to master this international language. There are a few steps that you need to do before trying to answer quizzes or exercises provided in this Englishland's website:

  • Study the grammar rules
Before starting to answer a number of grammar exercises provided in the web-pages of this website, you need to study the rules related to each topic that I discuss here. For example, if you want to answer quiz on how much and how many, you need to know the chapter in Grammar text books that discuss Countable and Uncountable (non-count) nouns. If you have read the topic, carefully analyze the sentences, phrases and patterns of every component that composed a sentence.

  • Answer the sample exercises
After you have studied the grammar rules, try to answer questions or exercises provided by the grammar books in later pages. If you use English Grammar in Use (written by Raymond Murphy) then the exercises are presented on right hand pages. For elementary level, the answer keys are provided at the back pages of the book.

  • Visit the English grammar webpage of this Englishland's website
Find the topic which you have studied in your course book or text book and try to answer the questions that we have provided. Because this website's exercises have been prepared for automatic answers and test result using javascript and flash technology, you will immediately get the right and wrong answers, as well as your score, after you press the check answers button.

We realized that the number of exercises that we provide in this website is still not many. We will continue to add more exercises regularly. by Charles Roring
