English Conversation Snorkeling and Birdwatching in Indonesia

The following English dialogue shows us how Rita shares her story of traveling in Indonesia with her friend Sarah.

Sarah		Hi, Rita! How are you? We haven't seen each other for one month. Where have you been?
Rita		Hi, Sarah! I am fine. I went to Indonesia on a snorkeling and birdwatching tour in West Papua. How about you?
Sarah		Me? I went with some of my friends to Vancouver city in Canada. We went hiking in the mountains and cruising to Alaska. Tell me about your adventure in the tropical island.
Rita		It's great. I love to be in Indonesia. The weather is warm and I was able to see the magnificent birds of paradise in Arfak mountains. I also enjoyed snorkeling in Manem islet where the coral reef and the tropical fish are still in their pristine condition.
Sarah		Manem? Where is it? I have never heard about the islet.
Rita		Yeah. I had never heard of it either. I heard about the snorkeling trip to Manem after I arrived in Manokwari - the capital of West Papua province. A local guide named Charles took us to Numfor island and then to Manem by a motor boat. It was really a tropical paradise.
Sarah		Are there any beach hotels or snorkeling resorts on the island?
Rita		There are some small tourist houses in Numfor island but not in Manem.
Sarah		Was it expensive to spend your summer vacation there?
Rita		No, at all. We spend around 700 Euros for one week tour in Numfor island. That's for two people.
Sarah		It's affordable. How did you know that there is a snorkeling package for tourists in Numfor?
Rita		I read articles in manokwaripapua.blogspot.com and downloaded a travel brochure Snorkeling and Birdwatching Tour Package in Numfor island and Manokwari. After reading the brochure, I and my husband bought our flight tickets to Indonesia. We really enjoyed our trip to the country.
Sarah		Who was your guide there?
Rita		His name was Charles
Sarah		Could he speak English?
Rita		Yes, we conversed in English. He is the one who writes the blog and compose the tour package brochure.
Sarah		I am interested in traveling to West Papua province of Indonesia. Besides going snorkeling, what other activities that I can do there?
Rita		When we were there, we went hiking and birdwatching both in Numfor island and Arfak mountains. We saw paradise kingfisher, parrots, eagle in Numfor island. When we were in the mountains, we saw the magnificent birds of paradise, western parotia and the bower bird - the king of seduction.
Sarah		Oh nice. I think I will go to Indonesia and visit West Papua this summer.
Rita		You go with some friends?
Sarah		No. I will go there alone.
Rita		Hey, Sarah. You haven't tell me about your travel experience in Alaska. Was it nice?
Sarah		It's nice. But yours is more interesting, I think.
