In this basic English conversation, questions that you read are about someone's profession. What his job is and where he works, that the usual questions that we use when meeting a person for the first time. We do not ask more detailed things particularly to person or people whom we've just met. Of course at the beginning of our conversation usually ask the name of the person whom we are talking to.

If you see at the above dialogue, you can see words or phrases that have been typed in green letters. This color is meant to help learners of English to identify the occupation and place of work. You can change them with the job and place of work that is more suitable to your own condition or to the choices that are relevant to make up a complete conversation. On the right side of the picture, you see a sound control. Press the play button and hear the English dialogue. Two native speakers are talking with each other. It seems that they have just met. Listen carefully about pronunciation  of the words and sentences and try to practice them. You can speak language several times until you feel sure that your pronunciation is just right. Why pronunciation in English conversation is important? Because it is what your speaking partner will listen. The more you practice listening and speaking English, the  better will be the improvements that you make in your pronunciation.

In the past years, people use cassette recordings to practice listening and speaking languages. When someone was in a car going home or to work, he usually played a English conversation cassette using the cassette player. Now, recordings of the conversation can be played from a computer, mp3 player or even a mobile phone. We hope that some samples of English conversation that we provide below can help you be more confident when using your English while talking to your friend or business partner.
