TOEIC stands for Test of English for International Communication. It is now increasingly popular among companies that want to recruit new employees for international working environment. According to the official website of ETS, the number of businesses that uses TOEIC test in 2010 is more than 10,000. UK Border agency have even announced that people can use TOEIC test to get visa for working, studying and settling in that country. Because the main objective of the test is to measure one's English proficiency in at workplace, the types of questions in the test are different from the TOEFL test. Generally TOEIC testing consists of two main parts,

Today more companies do their business worldwide by opening branches in many countries to increase their international market share. They will need workers who can communicate one another in English language. Because the proficiency levels of the employees are different, the multi-national companies rely on an internationally recognized test that measure them. Because TOEIC test has been introduced since 1979, it has long been recognized as a reliable test whose score can be used by the companies to hire, place and promote employees not only in the overseas branch office but also at their headquarters.
In order to get higher score, test takers need to make preparation for at least six months. Today, there are a lot of books on the market that provide sample questions which the test takers can study. Test takers or employees should study the sample tests to be more familiarize with the test.

In addition to studying the above sample questions, we encourage all the test takers to take a TOEIC preparation course both through an online English course program and the nearest English school in your town or city. However, because TOEIC is a specialized test, not all of the English language institutions around the world have such programs. As an alternative, test takers or employees can buy TOEIC preparation book as their reference material before taking the test.
