This watercolor painting that you see above is a composition artwork. In the real life, this beautiful girl was not sitting at the river bank near the falling water. She was sitting in a studio of photography. The background painting was created out of my own imagination as an artist. The painting of this beautiful girl was executed in 2004 using various brown colors of Derwent Watercolour Pencils. Its 72 pencils box provides 16 different variants of brown and around 10 variants of green.
The bamboo tree behind the sheltered pond was painted directly by the artist without using any picture as a model. The artist used to work near the bamboo tree. That's why he could paint the bamboo tree out of his vivid memory. Watercolor is a great painting media that is not easy to be controlled. Artists who want to master the painting techniques need a lot of practices before they can really feel that the results of their artworks are beautiful and can be accepted by art lovers. There are many books available in the bookstores that provide tutorials from how to draw sketches with pencils to how to color them with watercolors. If you are interested in painting with watercolor then you need to have a box of watercolor which contains various color paints. In order to do that thing, you need to know the basic knowledge of how to mix primary colors to get secondary and tertiary ones. Coloring a drawing using watercolor pencils is easier than directly using wet paints. Don't be panic when the painting that you make is not what you had expected it to be. The more you practice painting, the better you will become. Figure or portrait painting is a difficult project. Every one of us know how a male or female figure looks like. Pay attention to the proportions of human body if you want to make a good drawing.
