When you visit the above artists or other handicraft shops in town, please avoid buying souvenirs that are made of coral reefs such as necklaces and bracelets, or skins, fur, or feather of endangered animals such as birds of paradise, kuskus, and soa-soa. Buying such handicrafts will encourage the hunting of threatened animals. The recommended art products that you can buy are wood carvings, woven cloth, batiks, dried flowers, paintings, postcards, and other artworks that are made by the artists from their creativity using raw materials that are abundant in nature. by Charles Roring
